The Main Production's Racking Installed in 2004
At last our new forklift purchased especially to reach the full
height of the new racking has arrived from from Linde Trifik. Especially
made for us this forklift can lift 800Kg to 8 metres high, at lower
levels it can safely lift 2.5 tonnes easily. It has special forks
that can be adjusted hydraulically from the cab to a maximum width
of 2000mm, when handling worktops 4100mm long this is an additional
safety feature.
Now we have to get used to using the new truck and gradually get
some of our stock of worktops on the higher levels of racking. We
have planned to use the high level slots for 900mm deep worktops,
with a maximum of six worktops per level. That is why the upper
rack arms are coloured yellow. The lower red coloured arms can take
2 pallets of 600 or 670mm boards, each pallet containing 20 boards.
Soaring to over eight metres high, these new racks will provide
us with the means to store
the rest of the fastest moving ten Duropal colours. Thought to be
the highest finger racks ever used in this Country, each rack can
store a couple of hundred 600mm or 670mm deep boards and sixty 900mm
deep boards. Gradually as the year progresses our four other existing
five metre high racks will be replaced by more eight metre high
racking.
As fast as we fill our new racks, your orders are emptying them
again. A big thank you to all of our customers for keeping us so
busy. At least one full trailer of contrax colours a week is rolling
in from Germany besides the many daily deliveries of new stock we
receive.
